Finding the perfect gift can be challenging. I know I have struggled for gift ideas on multiple occasions. One way to make a lasting impact is with a commissioned painting. Gifting a painting shows thought into your gift choice, as well as preparation- this wasn't something you grabbed last minute or an item you're regifting but a piece of art you chose just for them.

A few reasons why paintings make great gifts;

Unique and Personal

Artwork is subjective, and can be very personal to each individual's liking. Choosing a specific painting that suits someone’s taste demonstrates your understanding of who they are.

Lasting Impression

Paintings create a lasting impact, and can be admired every day. This means your thoughtful gift will be remembered long after the occasion.

Well-placed artwork becomes a conversation starter, bringing back precious memories. The piece below was commissioned by grandson to grandfather of a place they spent many years walking together - Westport, Ireland. A beautiful piece of art, adding a pop of colour to a room while having the additional factor of wonderful memories.

Supports Local Artists

Purchasing a painting often means supporting local artists. For me, I love what I do and I am so grateful that people choose to gift and display my work in their homes. Being an artist wouldn't be possible otherwise.

When you give a locally-sourced painting, you can guarantee that artist has done a happy dance around the kitchen, regardless of whether the piece is considered large or small.

Final Thoughts

To sum it up, paintings make great gifts for numerous reasons. They are unique, lasting, supportive of local artists, versatile, and genuinely thoughtful. The next time you are on a gift hunt, consider stepping outside the usual and opting for a piece of art. It will lead to creating a cherished memory that lasts for years to come.
